Tour Details

One of the most important religious centers in the old Peru, an oracle visits dedicated to the great god Pachacamac, the most important deity in the whole coast in the XV century. Itinerary

Day 1LIMA - PACHACAMAC

Visit with us the great oracle of Pachacamac, an imposing sanctuary had built approximately for 1800 years and adored by different cultures until the last days of the Inca acme. According to many archaeologists and historians the Sanctuary headquarters of the most important deity in the coast of the Peru, a great pilgrimage center to the one which men attended was of almost all the corners of these lands, to present their best offerings and to consult to the oracle what afforded them the future. Accompany in this mysterious trip to the past and let us explore their sacred temples and enclosures of adoration together. Our walk begins with the I pick up of our clients in its respective hotels. Then we will undertake a trip of approximately 40 minutes toward the south of Lima, during our itinerary local guide he/she will make an introduction about the history of the city of Lima and he/she also explained important aspects of the contemporary Lima. Later we will arrive to the archaeological complex of Pachacamac, and we will begin our journey on foot for the most outstanding sectors in this great Sanctuary. Among the points to visit, they highlight the temples with pyramidal form whose steps and ramps will lead us to the summit of the sanctuary, of where one can have a beautiful view of the valley Lurín and of the Ocean Pacifico. Then we will go toward a great well-known enclosure as the Temple of the Sun, built in four platforms in trapezoidal form, which form a great truncated pyramid. This enclosure is attributed at the time in which the Inca expanded for the coast, since one can notice the Andean style clearly in its architecture. Here also we will be able to observe the gigantic square of the pilgrims and the beautiful enclosure of the Aclllas or enclosures of the chosen Women, dedicated to the service of the temples and the making of fine fabrics for the nobility. Finally we will visit the museum of place of Pachacamac, which exhibits in their room main remains of the artistic expressions of the different occupants of Pachacamac, as ceramic, fabrics and a beautiful one carved, which is believed represents the divine image of the god Pachacamac. Our trip includes a brief visit the traditional district of Ravine, which has as main attractiveness the famous Bridge of the Sighs. Finally we will return to Lima, skirting the costs of the Pacifico, appreciating during the journey beautiful landscapes of our Peruvian coast.
