A walk in boat of 25 minutes to the island of the Auroches. Fishermen and hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Auroches. The residents of the Auroches use the totora (it plants aquatic) that grows in the lake, to create the conditions that guarantee so that the islands float. The dense roots that generate these plants support the island. The auroches use the totora to build their islands, housings, to cook and to eat, likewise to sell in the city of Puno and also to exchange (it exchanges) with products like the quinua, potato, barley, etc. The culture Uru appeared ago but of 3000 years and its population spoke the language “Auroch puquina” and they had the dark color blood because they didn’t feel this way the cold, the last person that still spoke the language Uru died approximately in the years 60, there is not writing with respect to the language, at the moment the population speaks to Aymará.
